Forensic DNA Typing: Past, Present, and Future
Thursday, May 31st at 6:30PM, Dr. Cecilie H. von Beroldingen, Director of the California Criminalistics Institute at the Bureau of Forensic Services for the California Department of Justice, will present the history and development of forensic DNA technology and its applications, from crime scene analysis and missing persons investigations to DNA databases and non-human DNA.
Where Did Your Genetic Ancestors Come From?
Thursday, June 28th at 6:30PM, Dr. Graham Coop, Professor in the Department of Evolution and Ecology and Center for Population Biology at UC Davis, will talk about genetics, genealogy, and vast family tree of all humans that unites us all. As a professor in the Evolution and Ecology department, Graham works on questions at the intersection of human genetics and evolutionary biology.
