Kentucky Avenue Construction Update

September 22, 2017

Over the past few months, utility work along Kentucky Avenue between East to West streets has been ongoing. This work is required before the road can be rebuilt and is nearly complete. Teichert is finalizing their construction schedule and will soon begin temporary realignment of traffic lanes to allow for the widening of the roadway and building new curbs and sidewalk. Following the widening, they will reconstruct the existing roadway. With the exception of short-term closures, the road will be open and all businesses will be accessible from Kentucky Avenue. The project is anticipated to be complete by the end of 2018.

When complete, Kentucky Avenue will have new sidewalks, bike lanes, landscape and medians. The roadway between West and College streets will have one lane in each direction with a two-way turn lane. From College to East streets, the roadway will have two lanes in each direction with turn lanes and/or medians. The project is primarily grant funded with matching funds from the Measure E sales tax. For more information on the project, contact Diana Ayón at diana.ayon@cityofwoodland.org.

Take Action to Protect Your Water Supply

January 21, 2014
Woodland is currently asking water customers to voluntarily cut back water use by 20% in order to prevent potential future water shortages. 2014 is starting out as the third dry year in a row. The Governor has delcared a drought emergency. Little or no rain means the City has less groundwater to pump, and pumping water to deliver to homes and businesses becomes more expensive. As the demand for water increases during the summer months, we could face a shortage in water supplies. For tips on conserving water both indoors and outdoors, please visit www.cityofwoodland.org/waterconservation.
