Woodland residents are invited to bring their bulky waste and recyclable items to the annual Bulky Waste Drop-Off & Recycling Event on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Yolo County Fairgrounds (use Gibson Road entrance). Waste Management provides this free annual event for Woodland residents to dispose of or recycle items that don’t fit in their normal trash or recycling carts.
ACCEPTED items include: appliances, scrap metal, wood waste, rigid plastics (ice chests, playground sets, outdoor furniture, etc.), cardboard, electronic waste, mattresses, furniture, carpet, tires, and other non-hazardous bulky items.
NON-ACCEPTED items include: paint, CFL bulbs, fluorescent tubes, oil, batteries, or any other type of hazardous waste. Household hazardous waste (HHW) items can be taken to the Yolo County Central Landfill for free recycling during HHW Drop-Off Days: every Friday and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Paper shredding is also available. Place paper in boxes, bags or paper sacks. No preparation needed—staples and clips are okay. Limit 20 boxes per household.
Items brought to the event that are still usable will be placed in a reuse area for residents to take for free. First come, first served. The reuse area will close at 1:30 p.m.
This event is open to all Woodland residents who live within city limits. Please bring a copy of your Waste Management bill or driver’s license with a valid Woodland address. No commercial use allowed. All residents will be required to unload their own vehicles. Assistance is provided to the elderly.
