The first ever Get Your Business Online workshop hosted by The City of Woodland and Woodland Chamber of Commerce to be held Tuesday, November 3 at the Woodland Community Center. There will be two sessions: from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Woodland Community Center, located at 2001 East Street, Woodland, Ca 95776. This event serves as a way to help local businesses increase their presence online.
“A great challenge for small business is keeping up with the technology. The “Get Your Business Online Google Workshop” is an easy way to learn new tricks to stay with the times. In addition, your business will literally end up by name on Google maps so that all searching a Google map will see your name near your location. And it is all free!” explained Mayor of Woodland, Tom Stallard.
“4 out of 5 consumers use search engines to find local information nearby, yet only 37% of businesses have claimed their listing on a search engine,” says Soo Young Kim, Head of Small Business Engagement at Google.
There will be demonstrations and then time allotted to help businesses check and set up their business profiles online with the assistance of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and City staff.
The city will have ten laptops available on a first come first serve basis, so if you need one please indicate when you register. You are encouraged to bring your company sponsored laptop if available.
“I’m excited that the city is encouraging businesses to ‘get on the map’ as each one will drive that much more traffic to themselves and all of our businesses. The city should be thanked for hosting staffed workshops where they provide technology and expertise to make it easy even if you’re not online yourself!” remarked Kristy Wright, Executive Director of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce.
